3D Artist of the Month November 2018: Mikhail Buleyko

Thursday, November 1st, 2018 by Julian Karsunky

The end of the world has never looked so good! Mikhail Buleyko, our November 2018 3D Artist of the Month, envisions the remnants of a ruinous civilization in all its rusty glory. Dystopian in nature, yet vibrant in color and oozing with style, his ‘Rusty Skies’ is a real eye-catcher. A prime example in visual storytelling, its seemingly haphazard composition is a carefully crafted invitation to the viewer to immerse oneself in an alien, yet strangely cozy future.

In our interview, Mikhail talks about challenges and inspirations in the dystopian genre, offering a fascinating insight into his approach to world-building along the way. Continue reading to find out what lead to the downfall of society and get the full story behind the picture.

Art Wanted! Featuring Momentum

Monday, October 15th, 2018 by Julian Karsunky

Home, according to a popular proverb, is where your heart is. While the saying refers not to a physical place, there is a clear connection between our well-being and our living arrangements. It certainly helps, then, if the people who design your future residence at the drawing board put a lot of heart into their work. The folks at Momentum, an architectural and design visualization studio based in Lisbon, Portugal, are not only masters of their craft, but equally passionate about their work. Continue reading to find out how founders Miguel Chuva Gomes and Paulo Quartilho create the houses of tomorrow.

Guess who’s back? This month’s ArtWanted! feature reunites us with not one, but two “old” acquaintances: Reinier Reynhout, talented Dutch CG artist, and his trusty model of the Lamborghini Aventador. Longtime readers of our blog might recognize both from our February 2016 3D Artist of the Month article. Inspired by the visuals of Sci-Fi blockbuster ‘Bladerunner 2049’, Reinier created two distinct, futuristic settings for his luxurious car of choice.

Join us as we catch up with Reinier and get the fully story behind the image!
