While snow is not an unusual sight in parts of Iran, it still might come as surprise thatAli Farvardin, our ArtWanted! feature in July 2021, is jokingly called 'snowman' by his friends. But the young architect and 3D artist has a deep appreciation for all nature, and it features prominently in his work. Free from geographical limitations, Ali enjoys exploring European landscapes, right down to the nuances of Swedish housing designs.
In our interview, Ali discusses the joys of working remotely, environmentally conscious architecture, and gives advice for self-improvement.

Meet Thiago Pimenta and Andrey Rodrigues, co-founders and project directors atRP Studio, an up-and-coming full service archviz production company based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Together, the young entrepreneurs recently aced one of Ander Alencar’s Rendermind challenges with their ‘Edificio VK’, a visionary residential complex, put on impressive display through a short film and a series of images.

At one point in the critically acclaimed TV series ‘Westworld’, a character refers to humanity as a “thin layer of bacteria”. When taking a closer look at Brian Lai’s lifelike digital portrait of the show’s star, Anthony Hopkins, one might agree to this rather unflattering description: to teach his students the basics of sculpting anatomy, the Malaysian 3D artist and lecturer meticulously handcrafted every single skin pore of his subject. The result, however is much more than the sum of its (microscopic) parts, and stands as an impressive example of Brian’s talent, diligence and keen eye.
In our interview, Brian talks about his background in photography, choosing to remain a hobbyist and the unique joy to be found in human skin.

Our friend Daniel Karner has been busy working on ‘The House’, a passion project in the truest sense of the word: combining his lifelong love for 3D, gaming and classic horror, Daniel is putting in the extra hours in the evenings and on the weekends to create his own game. Following the story of a realtor tasked with selling an old boarding house, ‘The House’ is shaping up to recapture the wonderfully eerie feelings of a scary movie night.
In our interview, Daniel recalls early inspirations, the terror of the unseen and reflects on the joys and woes of game development.

Consisting of staggering number of images and an innovative making-of video, ‘Sisters‘ is yet another shining example of visual story-telling and testament to Mikhail’s outstanding artistic ability.

Art Wanted! Featuring Rabbit Hole Antwerp

When Bram Van Rompaey and Reinout Swinnen first founded their own company in 2006, they had no idea how deep the rabbit hole would go. Today, Rabbit Hole Antwerp is an established studio, providing 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics, illustrations, and most recently, AR experiences for a wide variety of clients. The co-founders’ shared vision is firmly rooted in a deep love for animation, with their work just oozing personality from every frame. The two of them complement each other well, not only in their creative endeavors, but in our interview as well!
