    The arrival of the new year brings some change to our ‘ArtWanted’ campaign, though mostly in name: going forward, we aim to highlight the wonderful work of our community under the moniker ‘RebusArt’. Make no mistake though, art is still very much wanted! We hope you continue to submit your images and scenes, so we can share just a tiny amount of the great content that is produced at our render farm every day. Leading by example in January 2023 is Reza Sharifzadeh, who sent us a beautiful and whimsical landscape lined with ‘Mountain Cottages’.

  • Monday, 02 January 2023 'Archviz of a house in Alentejo'

    Hello 2023! A new year means twelve new ‘3D Artists of the Month’, with us here at the Rebus render farm featuring their submissions and exploring the story behind their work through exclusive interviews. Kicking off the year is archviz artist Sara Viana and her beautiful ‘House in Alentejo’, a countryside villa in the architectural style of the eponymous region in her home country Portugal. Inspired to learn and professionally pursue CGI as a means of creative and emotional expression, Sara is looking to share her designs with the world.

    In our interview, Sara talks about career choices, establishing connections through 3D renders, and explains why she thinks of herself as a virtual photographer.

    Our final ArtWanted! feature of 2022 sees the return of a familiar face, as Chinese 3D artist Ruming Cao has once again wowed us at the Rebus render farm with another impressive display of his versatile abilities. While his previous works mostly focused on interior design, his latest submission ‘Junkman’ is a scene of high technical complexity and cleverly veiled environmental commentary. Driven by a seemingly unquenchable thirst for knowledge, he is determined in his pursuit of becoming a well-rounded generalist.

    While winter is slowly but surely taking hold of the Northern Hemisphere, Sepehr Mohajerani invites us to his ‘Modern Summer Interior’ to soak up the last rays of sunlight, an offer we at the Rebus render farm are more than happy to accept!     While many people value professional fulfillment more than success, not everybody is fortunate enough to achieve it. Rarely do business and pleasure go hand in hand as much as they do for Ehsan Salehian. Listening to the Iranian architect and 3D artist talk about his work, you can immediately tell he has found his vocation. But it was not passion alone that allowed Ehsan to prevail, but determination and hard work. Today, Ehsan manages two companies, and still makes time for personal projects, such as the neat living room he submitted to our render farm.

    In our interview, Ehsan recalls his humble beginnings, talks design philosophy and getting into the proper work “flow”.

    One of the greatest things about CGI is being able to enjoy sites from all over the world from the comfort of your desk chair. This sentiment is shared by M. Serhat Sezgin, our October 2022 3D Artist of the Month, who loves acquainting himself with different cultures and audiences from all over the world through his archviz work. An experienced interior and furniture designer, Serhat impressed us with his design of the Kazakh ‘Almati Café’, an opulent structure housing a lushly decorated interior.

    “Here’s to the new us!” As the world around us continues to change rapidly, what remains the same is our enthusiasm for the 3D community and the outstanding work its members share with us at Rebus Render Farm. This month, senior character artist Joshua Wu blesses us with his evocative depiction of Jinx, the well-loved loose cannon from the ‘League of Legends’ media franchise. Not your regular piece of fanart, Joshua’s 3D rendition faithfully captures the essence of the character through a more photographic aesthetic, and was very well-received online.

    Throughout human history, myths and folklore have served as an important outlet for our desire for creative expression. While often fantastical in nature, the themes and morals contained within these age-old stories still apply to and reflect our experiences. It is no wonder then, that their universal appeal continues to inspire creative minds to this day, and Fabricio Rezende, our Rebus Render Farm September 2022 3D Artist of the Month, is no exception! His depiction of a leprechaun sees the traditionally mischievous creature far removed from its pot of gold, a hauntingly hopeless victim of abject poverty.

    In our interview, Fabricio recalls his professional journey from the agricultural to the video game industry, reveals the real-life origins of his leprechaun, and speaks on the importance of finding your own artistic voice.

    The drive for artistic expression is a powerful force. When Brian Salvatierra and his wife Dariana Pitti quit their office jobs to found adetalle studio in pursuit of more creative endeavors, it was like “jumping into the abyss”. Still, it takes but one look at the outstanding work they and their team produce, to fully understand their decision. Their project ‘Lantana Residences’, a tropical Costa Rican neighborhood, has been making the rounds on social media lately, and we are eager to add to the well-deserved attention with our Rebus Render Farm August 2022 ArtWanted feature.

    The South American CG industry has been making waves for quite some time now, consistently producing top talent artists and work of the highest quality. Brazil, in particular, has established itself as home to a tight-knit community, and we are more than happy to once again shine the light on one of its more recent members: Arthur Sthefano Cavalcanti e Souza, our August 2022 3D Artist of the Month. When Gabriela Mazur, our June 2022 3D Artist of the Month, was first laid eyes on the plans of the ‘Casa Ayahuasca’, she was immediately spellbound by the bold concept. Located deep within the Mexican jungle, the fusion of a Mayan temple and an ancient Roman villa tingled her creative sensibilities.
