"Nature inspires me, there simply is no better architect or designer. When working, I frequently watch various documentaries on my second monitor. It broadens my horizon and helps instill new ideas."
"When it comes to styles, I want to try my hands at absolutely everything! I love working with realistic characters while continuing to deepen my anatomy basics, and then make them more stylized."
"I am fascinated by the relation between traditional and digital art and wanted to try my hands at a traditional painting and see what effect I could achieve in 3D."
"Having a balanced creative mindset is super important, because traditional art is full of abstract work, while CGI more often tends to chase realism."
"I draw inspiration from all things around me, in my daily life as well as in my travels. Music is another invaluable source of inspiration for me."
"I observe how the material reacts in the sun, how dust or dirt builds up on surfaces, how old age wears down wood or metal."
"Learn, learn, learn! Every day, try to learn something new! Create your own projects and don’t be scared to post it everywhere on the internet."
"First of all, I gathered all the resources I needed, including references from the film itself as well as photos of the real props such as the headbands."
"What inspires me the most as a 3D artist is to solve problems given by myself and others. To be more exact – I try to see the bigger picture, understand different fields of work and figure out how to go about it."
"Whatever I do, I like to either have a story in mind or a message I want to portray visually. When that storytelling element is in the heart of the piece, everything else falls into place."
“My favorite discipline is 3D sculpting characters. I just love putting aside the technical aspects for a while and only focus on the basics such as anatomy, proportions, silhouette, etc."
“In my opinion, personal projects are really important not only as part of a portfolio and demonstration of your capabilities, but also as means for artists to seek out and overcome self-imposed challenges."
