3D Artist of the Month February 2019: Virginlemon

In November 2018, star architect Shigeru Ban unveiled his plans for Kentucky Owl Park, a 420-acre complex in Bardstown, Kentucky, dedicated to the production of the famous American bourbon whiskey. The stunning 3D animation used to showcase the design, however, is the work of the talented team at Virginlemon, an Intereuropean studio specializing in architectural visualization and winner of our 3D Artist of the Month competition in February 2019.

We sat down with Carlotta Cominetti and Tamás Fischer to talk about digital worlds, their guaranteed sober approach to archviz animation and an exceptional collaboration spanning different continents.

For Peter Boardman, however, charm is not only a key component in his professional work, but his main artistic ambition as an architectural visualizer. We are off to a more than promising start, as Andrea Bertaccini kicks off 2019 with his rendition of beautiful Charlize Theron in her role of Furiosa from ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. Lately, he has devoted his long-standing experience and spare time to pay homage to the South-African actress via a series of hyperrealistic images. A veteran in the business, Andrea has been navigating the waters of the CG industry at the helm of Tredistudio for close to two decades.

In our interview, Andrea speaks of his humble beginnings involving an old 486, the secret to his company’s longevity and his infatuation with Charlize Theron.

Founded and managed by long-time friends and associates Leandro Silva and Pedro Silva, Oxygen provides visual support for architects, designers, real estate developers and marketing agencies around the world.

3D Artist of the Month December 2018: Stefan Kang Chun Yih

As the year draws to an end, we are thrilled to close out strong with the amazing Stefan Kang Chun Yih, our December 2018 3D Artist of the Month. While not immediately apparent by looking at his submission, Stefan stepped out of his comfort zone and went above and beyond to try his hand at a cartoonish scene. A highly accomplished VFX generalist usually prone to a more realistic aesthetic, he is a fervent proponent of self-improvement and a shining example of how far dedication can get you.
