3D Artist of the Month May 2021: Fadi Alsharif
Monday, May 3rd, 2021 by Julian Karsunky
Whether art imitates life or life imitates art, one thing is for certain: hardly anybody’s home looks as neat and tidy as your usual CG interior. When reworking an image following an archviz job, Fadi Alsharif, our May 2021 3D Artist of the Month, decided to try something different: bending the rules, the Syrian CG artist designed an aesthetic that replicates more realistic living conditions, with a relaxing calmness arising from a carefully composited chaos.
In our interview, Fadi talks about self-teaching, dream jobs, and thinking outside of the box.
Project Phoenix: 50% GPU Price Cut
Wednesday, April 28th, 2021
Project Phoenix was created by RebusFarm to help 3D artists through these rough times. We thought about a way to support our community and came up with a maximum 75% GPU discount to help artists realize new projects and therefore help them to rise again. This very high price cut was pushing our limits, so we were only able to do that for a limited time.
We actually wanted to go back to our regular GPU price now, but we decided to keep up our support for the community and to only go back up to 50% of the old GPU price. So from today, you get a 50% price cut of the old GPU price, that we had before we started our Project Phoenix. That means that our project continues:

Encouraged by the feedback of his peers and his own sense of improvement, he now stands determined to kickstart his long-lasting dream of establishing his own studio.
In our interview, Lucas discusses his love for details, plans for the future and the difference between exterior and interior scenes.

Art Wanted! Featuring Davide Tezza
Monday, March 15th, 2021 by Julian Karsunky
Staring at the wall is usually indicative of a creative drought. For Davide Tezza, it’s a never-ending source of inspiration. Where others might stare mindlessly into the void, the Italian architect and 3D artist sees only potentiality. His minimalist designs are the result of a deep understanding of form and composition and deliberate self-restraint, generating meaning out of thin air.
In our interview, Davide talks about the challenges of running a one-man-studio, designing emptiness, and how to avoid the perfectionist trap.
3D Artist of the Month March 2021: Alfa Smyrna
Monday, March 1st, 2021 by Julian Karsunky
Architecture is a reflection of how we think of ourselves and our place in the world. The work of Alfa Smyrna, our March 2021 3D Artist of the Month, is inseparably linked to her life experience. Having spent time in Sweden, where she worked on the iconic IKEA catalog, Alfa developed a great appreciation not only for the Scandinavian aesthetic, but the lifestyle as well. Her personal philosophy naturally extends to her designs, which capture the simple and timeless elegance of minimalist iconography.
In our interview, Alfa talks about creating her own models, honest materials and the beauty of imperfection.
Project Phoenix: Maximum GPU Price Cut of 75%
Monday, February 22nd, 2021
The past year was a very rough and difficult one. We all had to face completely new circumstances and find a way to cope with them. We at RebusFarm know that everything is connected and therefore one thing affects the other and a lot of us were affected quite hard.
Especially in difficult times like these, we have to stay together to be able to rise again. We thought about what we could do to help and came up with:
PROJECT PHOENIX: A MAXIMUM GPU PRICE CUT OF 75%
Art Wanted! Featuring Brian Lai
Friday, February 12th, 2021 by Julian Karsunky
At one point in the critically acclaimed TV series ‘Westworld’, a character refers to humanity as a “thin layer of bacteria”. When taking a closer look at Brian Lai’s lifelike digital portrait of the show’s star, Anthony Hopkins, one might agree to this rather unflattering description: to teach his students the basics of sculpting anatomy, the Malaysian 3D artist and lecturer meticulously handcrafted every single skin pore of his subject. The result, however is much more than the sum of its (microscopic) parts, and stands as an impressive example of Brian’s talent, diligence and keen eye.
In our interview, Brian talks about his background in photography, choosing to remain a hobbyist and the unique joy to be found in human skin.
