Universal Pictures - The Wild Robot - Official Trailer

In collaboration with DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures is "cooking" a highly anticipated 3D animated movie, The Wild Robot. Based on the beloved novel by Peter Brown, this film promises to captivate audiences of all ages when it arrives in theaters on September 27, 2024. Enjoy the trailer!

The movie features a talented group of voice actors. Lupita Nyong’o, an Academy Award winner, voices the main character, Roz. Pedro Pascal, nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes, plays a clever fox named Fink. Catherine O’Hara, an Emmy winner, voices a smart opossum called Pinktail. Bill Nighy, an Oscar nominee, is the voice of a wise goose named Longneck, and Kit Connor brings the friendly gosling Brightbill to life. Stephanie Hsu, also an Oscar nominee, voices another robot named Vontra, who plays a vital role in Roz’s journey. Adding to the film's impressive voice cast are Mark Hamill, famous for playing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars; Matt Berry, known for his role in What We Do in the Shadows; and Ving Rhames, who won a Golden Globe for his roles in Mission: Impossible and Pulp Fiction.

The Wild Robot is a story about a robot named Roz who ends up on a deserted island after a shipwreck. Roz doesn’t know anything about surviving in the wild, so she has to learn how to live on the island and get along with the animals there. Along the way, she takes care of a baby goose that has lost its family and becomes part of the island’s animal community.

The Wild Robot is a heartwarming tale about a robot finding itself in the great outdoors, where it learns the ropes of survival and makes some unexpected friends. Think of it as a mix of technology and nature, with a sprinkle of self-discovery.

The movie is directed by Chris Sanders, who brought us hits like How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and Lilo & Stitch. So, you know it's in good hands. It's produced by Jeff Hermann, who worked on The Boss Baby 2 and the Kung Fu Panda series—so expect some laughs along the way!

The whole thing started with Peter Brown's book, The Wild Robot, which became a massive hit in 2016, reaching the top of the New York Times bestseller list. The book was so popular that it became a trilogy, with sequels called The Wild Robot Escapes and The Wild Robot Protects. Peter Brown's work has won him many awards, so kids (and adults) love what he does.

As excitement builds, The Wild Robot is shaping to be one of the year's biggest movies. Get ready for a visual feast and some touching moments. The adventure starts on September 27, so don't forget to mark your calendars!
