At SIGGRAPH 2021, the AugmentedPerception team released the technical papers on their project which is called "Total Relighting". They show us how to relight portraits for background replacement using deep-learning algorithms.
With a single photo, you can now be anywhere without needing a green screen or any specialized capture hardware.
